The Hanged One’s Challenge

Today I surrender

to Love

living only

in the now

fearless, honest, open.

The Muses awakened me with those words this morning… and I felt such relief! This weekend I participate in the Biodanza facilitator training on Sexuality, one of the five categories of human genetic potential that Biodanza seeks to enhance. I’ve been a little nervous about it and as we say in the BD community… if something scares you that’s a sure sign you need to engage and not avoid! 🙂

For each of the eight solar festivals in the old Celtic pagan calendar I do a ten card tarot reading called a Celtic Cross. It serves as a head’s up, a guide, a magical intention for those six weeks… what I can expect if I stay on my path. The trump for my Samhain reading is the Hanged One, s/he who must surrender to Divine will if s/he is to be freed from petrified attitudes, from self-sabotaging or self-limiting patterns. The image in most tarot decks (I use the Crowley-Harris Thoth deck) is of a person hanging upside down, eyes closed, third eye shut unable to move. Surrender to one’s own deepest spiritual wisdom, longing to be expressed if only the ego will release its frozen grip, is the only option available…

This morning the muses gave me hope.

And you? From what “stuck place”, from what self-limiting belief or relationship or situation would you be released if you were to surrender to your inner wisdom, your truest self?
